From out of town??? This section is, especially, for you. Here are a few suggestions to help you enjoy your stay in South Florida. (Links for each can be found to the right of this web page.)
Shopping:
Town Center Mall (Boca Raton) - stores ranging from Old Navy to Nordstroms and Nieman Marcus.
Downtown Delray Beach has some great little boutiques and unique shops. Spend the day strolling up and down Atlantic Avenue in the Florida sunshine.
Restaurants:
Renzo's (Boca Raton) This is a "Jersey-style" Italian joint. Never disappoints. From zuppa de pesce to the braciole. Just make sure you visit the ristorante for the true experience, not their pizzaria. (They happen to be located down the street from one another.)
Tulio's (Boca Raton) The menu is best described as "Italian-fusion", but Tulio hasn't let Amanda & I look at a menu since we first got together for lunch at his restaurant, after having met one another on a flight back from Chicago. Instead, he always tells us that he's making us something special, and it always is. He remains a friend, and his new location has become a Boca hot-spot.
Bistro Zenith (Boca Raton) Fine American cuisine, topped off by the fried cheesecake for dessert...which, by itself, is a good reason to go.
Boston's on the Beach (Delray Beach) Located across from the beach, you can feel free to kick the sand off your feet, and kick back a few Corona's, while sitting on the rooftop lounge, overlooking the ocean, listening to the calming crash of the waves.
Sundy House (Delray Beach) The garden views here are beautiful! This historic building acts as a bed and breakfast, where you feed the fish swimming in the brooks, as you walk amongst the exotic Florida foliage. Enjoy a meal at one of the garden-side tables, and if you watch closely, you may see green parrots flying about.
Whale's Rib (Deerfield Beach) This is our favorite "hole-in-the-wall" raw bar/sandwich shop. Whale fries with whale juice help make this a local landmark
Coal Mine Pizza (Boca Raton) Great selection of brick-oven pizza, baked in the open while you watch. Our favorite is the meatball ricotta. Other great Italian specialities can also be found on the menu. There is a full bar, and both indoor and outdoor seating. If you do stop by, be sure to ask for Ashley : )
Entertainment:
Muvico Palace 20 (Boca Raton) This is an amazing place to see a movie! Plush love seats, stadium seating, dinner or wine/beer during the movie, great view without annoying disruptions. Just make sure your movie is being shown in The Premier when you go (Must be 21 and over.)
Boomers Mini-golf, rock climbing, arcade games - and Amanda's favorite - air hockey.
Beaches Delray or Deerfield beaches allow for accessibility to refreshments, and a quick bite (don't forget the sunscreen).
